VEHICLE EXHAUSTS AND REPLACEMENTS

The exhaust pipe in your vehicle has a variety of functions, but for you to get the highest fuel economy and minimise CO2 emissions from your vehicle, it must be in good shape and functioning properly. We perform a free visual exhaust inspection as part of our vehicle health check, which looks for physical damage, leaking joints, and corrosion in the exhaust, catalytic converter, and mountings.

HOW CAN I TELL IF I NEED TO REPLACE MY EXHAUST?

Exhaust systems are vulnerable to harm from a variety of different sources, including corrosion brought on by the age of the vehicle and external knocks and bumps. It is advised to inspect your exhaust pipe for physical damage as a result at least once every 15,000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first.

Your car’s exhaust system may show some tell-tale signs of failure that indicate repair work or a replacement that you may notice, including:

  1. Excessive smoke coming from the exhaust
  2. Loud noise while driving
  3. A rattling sound indicating something may have come loose
  4. Visible holes or rusting patches
  5. A hanging or dragging pipe

FREE EXHAUST CHECKS

If you have any questions concerning the status of your exhaust system, visit us in-center and our technicians will be pleased to provide their professional, unbiased opinion as part of our free vehicle health check.

A 3-year or 25,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty is included with every one of our catalytic converters, pipes, and exhausts.

Additionally, a free visual exhaust check can be scheduled.
After your free exhaust inspection is complete, we’ll provide you an estimate for any necessary repairs. This will include the price of labour as well as any replacement parts.

WHAT CAN CAUSE AN EXHAUST SYSTEM FAULT?

  • You only do quick trips in your car. ?

Exhaust gases that are still in the silencer system when the engine is turned off condense with cooling to form a condensate at the end of a trip. Internal corrosion may quicken if the operation is repeated and condensate builds up.

  • A difference in temperatures?

The gap in temperature between the car and the driving environment can also increase the likelihood of corrosion.

  • Road conditions?

External corrosion on the exhaust system is accelerated by mud, water, and salt being projected onto the system from the road. Additionally, any roadside debris (stones, unidentified objects, etc.) could puncture the boxes or harm the mountings.
